Here's How You Can Help With El Reno Tornado Relief Efforts

The Shepard House in El Reno is no longer taking donations due to limited space. Items can now be donated directly to the Red Cross Oklahoma according to the City of El Reno. We're working to find out the address of where you can drop items. Please check back for the latest information. You can also make a financial contribution of $10 by texting "REDCROSS" to 90999.

The City of El Reno has also setup a GoFundMe to assist victims. As of 3pm the fundraiser had raised $27,591 of the original $1,000 goal.

The Central Oklahoma Salvation Army is also on-site assisting victims and first responders and released the following statement:

The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma quickly mobilized their canteen (mobile feeding unit) to offer support to first responders and survivors.Salvation Army staff and volunteers are offering snacks, hydration and emotional and spiritual care.

“We are on site supporting the efforts of the first responder teams of El Reno along with those from many neighboring communities,” said Major Stephen Ellis, area commander for The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma. “We have provided breakfast and lunch and will continuing serving on site as the work continues.”

The best way to help after a disaster is to make a financial donation to the charity of your choice. Monetary contributions also support local economies and ensure that businesses can operate when relief supplies diminish.
